Paul
Horton has had a long and varied career in design, from bicycles and
computer programs to furniture and buildings, large and small.
Alongside this experience, his craft skills in furniture making
and carpentry have developed a relationship with materials and an
intuitive eye for detail. For Paul, the practice of design is about
finding solutions which are both efficient and beautiful. His work,
informed by craft and inspired by the material expresses a simplicity
where the small details require no elaboration.

Paul Horton Design was established
in 2007 to provide a design service and consultancy, primarily for
timber based architectural projects and the design of furniture. Our main specialities are in the
design of post and beam structural timber frames and the support of
small self build projects. The ecological impact of our built
environment is a driving force, as is our deep relationship with wood
as a material. We also undertake drawing work for planning applications
and building control submissions as well as detail design work for
building construction and the design of furniture.
If you would like to discuss your proposed project or would like to find out more about the services we offer please don’t hesitate to contact us, either by phone or e-mail. |
